As I was going through Dad's photos, I came across a bunch that were dated 1946-1949, Oscoda Air Base, Michigan. Nearly all of them had "Bade's Gang" written on the back.
It wasn't until I came across this particular shot that I realized what "Bade's Gang" was referring to!
When I looked closer, I had to smile at the prices ...

Fish 1.10

This photo is keeper. If the food prices were that low people must have been working for less than a dollar per hour. At least they were working.
Do you know the age of this photo? It looks like early 1940s to me. My mom told me that she made $3 a week in the late 1930s.

I bet he wasn't trying to get the prices immortalized, but it makes for a great way to date the photo.
There are so many things I wished I could have asked him--wished we could have gone through these pictures and heard the stories. This picture is just delightful.
