It took 3 days, in 1960, to go by rail from Portland, Oregon to Washington, DC. What a ride it must have been!

Can you travel coast to coast by train in the U.S.? There's Via Rail in Canada on which you can travel from Nova Scotia to British Columbia. I think it would be great fun. Maybe some day!!
